Swimming Gala

A big well done to all the participants of last Sunday's Gala. The event was a success and we finished 4th overall in the boys events and 3rd overall in the girls events.

Congratulations the Sydney and Ashleigh for winning their events; cerificates for all swimmers will be given out in Assembly on Friday.

Thank you to parents for braving the traffic and cramped parking coditions! Your support was gratefully received.

Sustrans Bike Breakfast

We are holding a 'Bike Breakfast'. This will be held on Monday 5th March and is to celebrate the official opening of our new cycle shelter. It is open to all pupils, staff and parents, so now is the time to consider dusting off your bike in the shed. Everyone who brings in their bike that day will receive a FREE slap-band and a FREE breakfast.

Readathon 2012

Whitehouse Common School is taking part in Readathon this year on the week beginning 27th February.

Watch the video below to find out what Readathon is and why we should be taking part.

Sainsburys Active Kids Vouchers

We are collecting now! There is a collection box in both the Oaks and Acorns foyers, please urge family and friends to send in as many vouchers as possible so we can get some fabulous PE and outdoor play equipment.

Thanks to your efforts last year, we were able to buy, new netballs, new rounders balls and posts, new mats for gymnastics, new footballs and new relay batons.

Thank you for your support.

PTA Quiz Night

ptaOur PTA are holding a Quiz Night on Friday 2nd March. For more information about the quiz and an update on how the PTA funds are being spent please [click here].

Rescheduled Year 6 Boys Football vs Little Sutton

Please note the postponed football fixture from February 6th will now be played on Thursday 8th March. The match will be played at Little Sutton and the information on the original letter will still be applicable. The team selected will remain the same but if any player is unable to play on this new date please let Mrs Cleaver know as soon as possible.

Swimming Gala Time Alteration

Please note the Swimming Gala on March 4th will start at midday and conclude at 3pm not 2pm as originally stated. This is due to the fact that more schools are competing which should make the event more enjoyable. If you have been invited to attend the Gala please return your slip if you haven't already done so. It is important that you reply, even if you are unable to attend, so this place can be offered to another child.

Eco Team RAGTEX Collection

The Eco Team will be holding a RAGTEX collection on Friday 23rd March. Please bring in any unwanted items! For more information about RAGTEX recycling please [click here].

Eco Team News

Eco-Team-LogoThank you to everyone who took part in the Litter Slogan Competition. We had lots of entries that made it very difficult to pick the winners.

The winning slogan from KS1 was sent in by Ethan Witter 1DS

Please feed this hungry bin by putting all your litter in!

The winning slogan from KS2 was sent in by William Harknett 5RD

Keep it clean, Keep safe, put your litter in its place!

We shall be printing these slogans on to stickers around the school and on the bins to encourage everyone to put their litter in the bin.

Congratulations to Ethan and William, we hope you like your wind up torches.
