Lo que hicimos en español (otoño 2)

Time for an update on Spanish over the last few weeks!

MatemáticasY3 have been working hard on their numbers in Spanish, concentrating not just on recognising and correctly writing them but also on pronouncing them correctly. They're been listening out for phonemes and discovering the grapheme that corresponds, and then applying this to pronounce new words. They've also been doing some Spanish maths.

cuál es la fecha de hoy optY4 have been looking at numbers too, this time to 31 as part of learning how to write the date in Spanish. You can have a go yourself by using the image above to guide you! They enjoyed discovering the numbers through playing a game of dominoes, and worked hard on distinguishing between ei and ie in numbers like seis and siete.

Year 5 have spent this half term learning how to talk about pets, applying structures that they learned in the first half term to talk about their families to talk abotu their pets. They'va laso enjoyed using their imaginations and writing about their pet 'elefantes' and 'tigres'.

And Year 6 have concluded this unit of learning by makiing triaramas, advertising what can and can't be found in their town. They enjoyed drafitng and 'polishing' their writing and then presenting it in a creative attractive way. Señora Stevens was particularly impressed by the independence of several pupils who looked back in their books and recycled language from previous years without prompting.
