As we near the end of the school year and our time in year one, we are still enjoying very busy weeks packed with fun and lots of learning - even the sunshine and the heat can't stop us from working hard! Our teachers are very proud of us!

Pointillism title

This week, we enjoyed our final Art in a Day of the year which focused on the skill of painting and we learnt all about pointilism. We linked the day to our current seaside topic and used the pointilism technique to create seaside pictures in this style. This type of painting is very time consuming so we had to draw on our BLP skills of resilience too so that we would persevere and stay absorbed in our work!

Transition      Transition Day

On Wednesday, we had transition day and met our new teachers for a chance to experience what it will be like in Year 2. We had a great day filled with fun and are now looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead and the adventures yet to come!

Sports Day

Then on Friday it was sports day! The sun shone, we all took part to help our teams to victory and we used the skills which we have been working on in recent PE lessons to help us earn points for our houses.

Congratulations to Acer who won in the end but we should all be proud of the efforts we made in representing our houses in a range of events. A great day was had by all and the delicious ice lollies provided by our fabulous PTA (thank you so much!) were well deserved and much appreciated!

On to our final fortnight and many more exciting activities to be enjoyed!
