We have also been working hard to make our garden look tidy. We have planted some flowers and even painted our picnic tables!

The results are fantastic though. We are sure that you will agree that our garden looks lovely? We are looking forward to some sunny weather after Easter so that we can get outside more often!

Each group of children experienced a Tots Tennis session similar to the ones that the coaches deliver on Sunday mornings at the Tennis Club. The children responded really well and everyone had a great time. ..

Yo ho ho, Pirates!

This week saw the start of a new and exciting topic in Nursery - Pirates!

On Monday we held a Dressing up day and the children (and staff) were allowed to come to nursery dressed as pirates. We had some fabulous costumes and, more importantly, fun! We started off by answering the register in "pirate speak" which, for those who do not know, is "Aye, aye Captain!"

It looks like these brave pirates are walking the plank!

We have also started receiving some new resources that we ordered using the money raised from our sponsored event, which is fabulous because it means that your children will benefit straight away!

Please refer to Nursery Notices to see the pictures of our new resources.

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all our parents and grandparents who have been so generous today in supporting our sponsored event. Not only did everyone turn up to share the fun with their children or grandchildren, we were overwhelmed with the donations of cakes that we later sold. We have even had some sponsorship money already!

As you can see the children really did enjoy themselves!Jamie small

Reading

User Rating:  / 1

In Nursery we love reading. We are very fortunate to be able to visit the school library every Friday in order for the children to browse the books before choosing one that they'd like to borrow for the week. Thank you to all the parents who write comments in their child's Reading Record card about their shared learning experience. We really value your imput and the children love to collect stickers!

This week we also held our Parents' Evenings and were delighted to welcome you all into Nursery to talk about your child's progress. It was lovely for us to have so much positive feedback too. We shared the children's Individual Learning Journeys and read their parent comment to them.

Look who's visiting Nursery!

This week we continued with our topic about "Bears" and, as our letter of the week was "p", guess who visited Nursery?

Paddington small

It was Paddington Bear!

Much of our work has centered on his visit. For example we considered which material would be best for making Paddinton a waterproof coat. We experimented with different materials.

We also made Paddington's favourite treat... Marmalade sandwiches!

We also had some staff visitors this week as Mrs Clarke, Miss Greenwood and Mrs Dixon brought along their favourite teddies.

We have also continued to have a huge focus on getting the children writing and are very pleased with their progress and enthusiasm to write. The children are now regularly choosing to write as Harry is doing so.

Our "Letter of the Week" table is still proving popular and this week Louis brought in something really interesting for the letter "n". Please keep sending items that we can talk about and display on our Letter of the Week table.
