This week Reception have been looking at the tradional tale of 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'. We have been building bridges out of a range of materials and have been working as a team in PE to cross the bridge safely before the troll could eat us all up! We have also looked at some famous bridges and many children could recognise some of these from places they have visited.
During phonics this week we have been learning the sounds for 'c, k, u and b'. Can you guess which letter ' curl around the caterpillar' belongs to? The teachers in Reception are amazed and very proud of all the children and how they have grasped the sounds and rhymes for each letter.
We have collaged some characters from the story and made some fantastic Billy Goats.
Another super week Reception. Well done :)

This week Reception have been reading the traditional story of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'. We really enjoyed putting our fingers into some gloopy porridge to pull out numbers and tell our partners one more than that number. Reception also loved going outdoors to draw numberlines on the shed and jumping on numbertiles to find one more. We have learnt some more of our letter sounds this week such as, i, p and n. One of our rhymes we have learnt is 'Down his body and dot for his head'. Can you guess what letter this rhyme is for? Next week we are looking forward to meeting the characters from 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff' but not the Troll!
