This week we have been looking at the traditional tale 'The Three Little Pigs'. We have designed some houses using a range of materials and we have been on an Autumn walk around our school. We did some bark and leaf rubbings using wax crayons and talked about the changes happening in this season.

In Maths we have been working on adding 2 sets of numbers together using animals from the farm. We have learnt that + means add and = means equlas.

In Literacy we have been looking at sentences and reading lots of our key words. Can you tell which of these is a sentence?

I can see a

I can see a pig.

We have been as busy as the elves this week learning our sounds, q, ng, nk, x.

Today we have enjoyed participating in the bikeathon, we are very tired but had a super time.

Well done children you have been working really hard.

This week Reception have been looking at the tradional tale of 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff'. We have been building bridges out of a range of materials and have been working as a team in PE to cross the bridge safely before the troll could eat us all up! We have also looked at some famous bridges and many children could recognise some of these from places they have visited.

During phonics this week we have been learning the sounds for 'c, k, u and b'. Can you guess which letter ' curl around the caterpillar' belongs to? The teachers in Reception are amazed and very proud of all the children and how they have grasped the sounds and rhymes for each letter.

We have collaged some characters from the story and made some fantastic Billy Goats.

Another super week Reception. Well done :)

This week Reception have been reading the traditional story of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'. We really enjoyed putting our fingers into some gloopy porridge to pull out numbers and tell our partners one more than that number. Reception also loved going outdoors to draw numberlines on the shed and jumping on numbertiles to find one more. We have learnt some more of our letter sounds this week such as, i, p and n. One of our rhymes we have learnt is 'Down his body and dot for his head'. Can you guess what letter this rhyme is for? Next week we are looking forward to meeting the characters from 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff' but not the Troll!

This week in Reception we have been retelling the traditional story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We have enjoyed doing lots of activities such as, making our own beanstalks, helping the Giants' wife by sorting out the Giants clothes into the correct order and using positional language to describe where Jack was hiding from the Giant.

In Literacy we have been learning about the formation and rhymes of the sounds a, m and s. We particularly enjoyed 'Maisie, Mountain Mountain!'

We have also been talking about health and safety and were lucky to have Mrs Hawksworth come in and talk to us about the importance of crossing the road safely. Another great week children.Well Done!

In Reception this week we have enjoyed retelling the traditional story of 'The Little Red Hen' using actions for words. We have tasted some delicious breads from all around the world and have even baked some of our own bread rolls! We have also helped Little Red Hen by counting all of the animals on the farm and produced some super paintings of all the characters from the story.
