This week Reception have been thinking about celebrations. We found out about Chinese New Year and made our own lanterns.
We also found out about Shrove Tuesday and enjoyed eating pancakes!

This week Reception have been reading 'The Gingerbread Man'. We joined in telling the story and wrote about what happened. We made and decorated our own gingerbread men and especially enjoyed eating them!

Reception have had a fantastic first week back! We have been learning different Nursery Rhymes and finding the rhyming words. We also made a character from a rhyme, can you guess which one it is?

Reception children have thoroughly enjoyed their last week of the Autumn term! We enjoyed performing our Christmas show on Wednesday for the other children at school and again on Thursday for all our visitors. We hope everyone has a lovely Christmas break.

Reception children have all been busy rehearsing for the Foundation Stage Chisrtmas show, 'A Miracle in Town'. We will be performing for parents and grandparents on Thursday 17th December at 9.20am and 2.25pm in the Acorns Hall. The Nursery and Reception children always put on a fantastic show so please come along and watch (don’t forget the hankies!)

This week we have lots of fun in maths, ordering numbers!
We had different numbers and had to put them in order from the smallest to the largest.
We enjoyed playing an ordering game on our Whitehoard and Touchscreen.
We matched the number to the correct piece of Numicon to help us.

This week Reception have been learning all about Diwali. We listened to the story of Rama and Sita and found out about how Hindus and Sikhs celebrate. We made out own clay diva lamps and designed own own colourful rangoli patterns on the playground!

This week we have been thinking about Bonfire night. We listened to the story of how Guy Fawkes tried to blow up King James and the Houses of Parliment.
We enjoyed making firework pictures and eating our own chocolate sparklers!

This week Reception have had lots of fun counting and looking at addition.
We counted out two different sets of animals.
Next we added them altogether, wrote down how many there were and matched the number to the correct piece of Numicon.

This week we have been reading 'Percy The Park Keeper'.
We enjoyed going on an Autumn walk to collect leaves so we could use them to make patterns. We thought about all the different colours we could see.
We used the play dough to make homes for Percy's animal friends.

Reception have had another busy week in school!
This week in Maths we have been thinking about length and comparing long and short.
We had lots of fun trying to get into height order.
We enjoyed reading 'Walking through the Jungle' and using Numicon to help us find one more.

Can you believe that Reception have only been in school for 2 weeks? They have all settled in so well and know all the routines of the school day.
We enjoyed our Maths work where we used the Numicon shapes to help us. Can you match the shapes to the correct numbers?
We had a very exciting day on Thursday when we all watched a huge crane lift up one of the builder's cabins and put it on the back of a lorry to be taken away.
We also enjoyed playing with the Foundation stage bikes and trikes on the playground.
