Sainsbury's Active Kids 2012

Many thanks to everyone who has collected Sainsbury's Active Kids 2012 vouchers. They have now been counted and posted. We collected a grand total of 8,900 which is fantastic! We have ordered lots of new equipment to be used as part of P.E. lessons and at lunchtimes including tennis rackets, basketballs, hoops, beanbags and skipping ropes! Well done everyone!

Olympic Assembly

Yesterday Key Stage 2 had an assembly about the Olympics from a representative from BT. She talked to us about values of the Olympics and the Paralympics and how we can incorporate these into our own lives. We also learned about the history of the Olympic games and why we have five rings and why they are those colours. We met the mascots: Wenlock and Mandeville and learned about what they represent and how they got their names. At the end of the assembly we watched a video about some of the athletes that will be representing our country in the 2012 Olympic games.

Mixed Rounders Tournament

Our mixed rounders team entered a tournament yesterday at Fairfax School. They played 4 other schools and won their last match against St.Nicks 5-1 1/2, coming in fourth place overall. The team were a credit to Whitehouse Common Primary School. Well done to all of those who took part!!
We look forward to the boys and girls rounders tournaments coming up next half term! A special thank you to Miss Maltby, Miss Greenwood and all of the parents for taking them along!!

Whitehouse Common Football Team Kit

We are happy the unveil our brand new school football kit sponsored by Colbecks Music.

After being successful in bidding for a full Nike kit courtesy of the Players Football Association, the team elected to have a green, white and yellow strip reflecting our school colours.

Here is our school football captain Harry sporting our smart new kit! Team photos to follow after the season concludes next week.
